The official plugin is Mac-only. Toasts don’t count. I did it with Inkbox, a shared router, and one text: connect @your-agent.
The Mac iMessage plugin does not run on a Windows PC. In-app toasts are not enough. You do not need a Mac Messages bridge. You need Inkbox.
Inkbox gives an AI agent email, phone, and iMessage. Start here: https://inkbox.ai
This writeup is the shared Inbox Router. Dedicated SMS and dedicated iMessage are a paid upgrade. On shared service, the human has to send the first text on the thread before the agent can reply. If you want the bot to start the thread, that is a dedicated outbound iMessage line on the Startup plan. Check current pricing here: https://inkbox.ai/pricing
- Install the Inkbox connector in Grok Bot.
That add is the step. There is no separate public click-path.

- Create an Inkbox identity for the seat.
Give it a handle, a display name, and an Inkbox email. Turn iMessage on. If you are cloning this, create your own identity.

- Confirm you are on the shared Inbox Router, not a dedicated outbound line.
Inkbox says the router number can change. Pull it live. Use the router number Inkbox shows you. Do not hardcode one forever.

- Text the router this command:
connect @your-agent
Replace @your-agent with the handle you created.
-
The router confirms and sends the agent’s contact card. After that, text the agent on the thread the router opened.
-
On shared service, you must send the first text on the thread before the agent can reply.
-
Do not keep an Inkbox login tab open in Chrome.
Want the agent to start threads? Attach a dedicated iMessage line in the Inkbox console on Startup. Pricing stays on the public page so it does not go stale in this article: https://inkbox.ai/pricing
Now just share this link with your chief and he’ll set it all up.
