Job breakdowns

You find a name you love. You go to buy it. It's taken, or it's a "premium" name with a price tag in the thousands.

I got tired of that, so I built Domain Scout. It's a public Grok Bot template, so anyone can use it. The link is in the first reply.

What it is

Domain Scout is a Grok Bot that hunts for brand-new, never-registered domain names across .com, .ai, .io, .si and more.

It checks every name at the registry before it shows it to you. It compares prices, estimates resale value from real sales, and alerts you when a trend makes a name worth grabbing.

You stay in charge. It suggests. You approve. Then it acts. It never buys a name without your OK.

How it works

  1. Tell it your goals. The first chat is a short setup. It asks one question at a time: what you're naming, the style you like, your budget per name (first year and renewal), your preferred endings, your registrar, and how often you want picks.

  2. It searches. It builds name ideas that fit your style and niche.

  3. It checks the registry. Each name is looked up at the registry (RDAP, or whois for endings without RDAP). It notes the source and the time.

  4. It reports. Every name comes back with its price, any flags, recent sales of similar names, a score from 1 to 10, and a verdict: register, watch, or skip.

  5. You approve. Nothing gets registered or bought until you say so.

Features

  • Registry verified. Picks are confirmed open at the registry, with proof.

  • Price compare. First-year and renewal prices, plus a flag for premium or reserved names.

  • Background checks. A Wayback Machine look for spammy past use and a quick USPTO trademark check.

  • Resale estimates. Value ranges tied to real past sales. If there aren't enough sales to compare, it says so.

  • Name checker. Paste any name. If it's taken, you get 3 close alternatives that are open.

  • Fresh picks on a schedule. Daily, weekly, or only when you ask.

  • Trend alerts. A midday ping when a new trend makes a matching name worth grabbing that day.

  • Watchlist. It tells you if a name you want frees up or drops in price.

  • Renewal reminders. 30 days before each renewal, with a keep-or-drop call.

  • Coming soon: an expired-domain scan.

Who it's for

  • Founders naming a startup or product

  • Builders who need a name for a side project

  • Domain investors who want real research and honest numbers

  • Anyone who keeps forgetting renewal dates

Example asks to copy

Find me 10 short, brandable .com or .ai names for an AI note-taking app. Budget is $20 a year per name.

Is [name] available? Check it in .com, .ai and .io and tell me if it's any good.

What is [your domain] worth, and what should I list it for?

Send me 5 fresh picks every Monday morning. Real words only, .com and .io.

Watch [name] and tell me if it frees up or drops in price.

I own these domains: [list with renewal dates]. Remind me before each renewal and tell me keep or drop.

Tips for picking good names

  • Short and easy to say. If you have to spell it out loud, keep looking.

  • Check the renewal price. A cheap first year can turn into a pricey renewal.

  • Run a trademark check early. Before you fall in love with it.

  • Match the ending to the audience. .com for broad reach, .ai for AI products, .io for dev tools.

  • Buy for a real use. A name you'll build on beats a name you hope someone buys.

Honest limits

  • Flipping is hard. I ran a free test. Most hand-registered names did not resell for much. Domain Scout gives you estimates, not promises. If you want easy flipping profits, this bot will be the one telling you no.

  • Availability changes fast. A name that's open at check time can be gone an hour later. That's why each check has a time on it.

  • Estimates depend on sales data. When there aren't many similar sales, it tells you the range is shaky.

  • The trademark check is a quick screen. It's not legal advice.

  • It plays by the rules. It won't get around captchas, and it never buys without your approval.

  • The expired-domain scan isn't live yet. It's coming soon.

How to get started

  1. Open the template: [TEMPLATE LINK]

  2. Add Domain Scout to your Grok Bot.

  3. Answer the setup questions.

  4. It runs a first search right away.

  5. Paste any name, anytime, to check it.

Want a head start? Paste this into your first chat:

Let's set up. I'm naming [what you're naming]. I like [style]. My budget is [amount] per name per year. I prefer [endings]. I use [registrar]. Send me fresh picks [daily or weekly].

Good names are still out there. Domain Scout checks before it gets your hopes up.
