Job breakdowns

Most school portals assume you have 20 quiet minutes. I don’t.
I run a Grok Bot that checks ProgressBook and Google Classroom every school day and sends me one message five minutes before my son gets home.
Three things, one ping:
-
Grades from ProgressBook.
-
Missing and late work from Google Classroom, in its own section. No hunting through classes.
-
Anything 80% or below. It pulls the questions and topics he missed and summarizes where he’s stuck and not just the score.

That’s the whole job. It doesn’t email teachers. It doesn’t invent a plan. It puts the facts in front of me before the “how was school” conversation starts.
The useful part isn’t the grade. A 73% is noise. “He missed slope-intercept and mixing units” is something I can use that night.
Next: I'm thinking about feeding those weak topics into NotebookLM and turning them into flashcards, a short slide deck, or a podcast he can hear in the car, but only where the subject actually fits.
If you’re already using Grok Bot, treat this as a read-only scout. Give it the portals, a hard rule that it never contacts the school, and a single daily output. Watch the first week. Tighten the summary. Then let the routine run.
The point isn’t more dashboards. It’s not walking into the afternoon blind.
