Quick Bites
SpaceXAI
-
The X Subscription puts Grok, Cursor and X on one plan, one workspace and one bill.
-
Five individual tiers: Free at $0, Plus at $8/mo, Premium at $30/mo, Super at $100/mo, Ultra at $200/mo. SpaceXAI marks Premium as most popular.
-
Annual pricing: Plus $80, Premium $300, Super $1,000, Ultra $2,000. That works out to $7, $25, $84 and $167 a month.
-
Included usage runs Limited, Base, 4x, 15x, 50x across the five tiers.
-
Grok and Cursor draw from one shared weekly pool. The allowance refreshes weekly, so one heavy day does not wipe out the month.
-
Grok Bot is included on Premium, Super and Ultra. Plus does not include it.
-
Teams get Premium at $30 per seat, Super at $100 and Ultra at $200. Each seat carries the same usage as the matching individual tier.
-
Plus is not available for teams. Enterprise is custom priced.
-
Team plans add a marketplace for internal rules, skills and plugins, centralized billing, usage analytics, team-wide privacy settings, custom chat data retention and SAML/OIDC SSO.
-
Members of one team can sit on different tiers. Three Premium seats and one Super seat is allowed.
-
Everything is managed at grok.com/dashboard after switching.
-
Subscriptions are sold only through X Subscription Corp. SpaceXAI says it authorizes no resellers and that accounts bought elsewhere may be suspended.
X
-
X benefits attach once a personal X account is connected.
-
Free gets standard X. Plus gets a checkmark, creator tools and fewer ads. Premium, Super and Ultra get full X Premium+ benefits.
-
Anyone on X Premium+ today needs Premium or higher to keep those benefits.
-
Paid X Premium is cancelled at checkout when you switch, with an automatic prorated refund sent separately.
-
Only personal X accounts can be connected. Organization-managed and affiliate accounts cannot.
-
Each X account can be combined with one Grok account only.
-
Team seats carry X benefits too. Each member connects their own personal X account.
Cursor
-
Cursor says every X Subscription tier includes at least twice the coding usage on Grok models as the comparable old Cursor plan.
-
Cursor puts team seats below the old Cursor Teams price with 3x more coding usage.
-
Third-party models like Claude and GPT stay available in Cursor. They are not included in any plan and bill at API list prices from the first use, paid from prepaid credit.
-
Teams pay a Cursor Token Rate of $0.25 per million tokens on third-party model requests, on top of the model's own API pricing. First-party models including Grok and Composer are exempt. Individual plans do not pay it.
-
The X Subscription Ultra plan is new. Cursor says it is not the old Cursor Ultra plan, which is closed to new signups.
-
Existing Cursor subscribers keep their included third-party usage until they switch.
Media Matters
- The whole ladder, priced

The multipliers are measured against Plus. Read them against Premium instead and SpaceXAI's own framing appears: Super is ~3.5x Premium, Ultra is ~12x Premium.
Annual billing takes ~a sixth off. $300 a year for Premium is $25 a month against $30. Ultra at $2,000 is $167 a month against $200.
What a tier buys is usage, not features. Plus and Ultra both run Grok Chat, Voice, Imagine and Build. The gap between $8 and $200 is how much of it you get before the pool runs dry, plus Grok Bot and the Cursor agent starting at Premium.
- A checkmark now costs $8. Premium+ starts at $30
This is the part that touches the most people.
X Premium as a standalone product is being folded in. Connect a personal X account to a paid tier and the X benefits come from The X Subscription instead of a separate X bill.
At $8, Plus gets the checkmark, creator tools and fewer ads. At $30, Premium gets full X Premium+ benefits. It also brings Grok Bot and the Cursor agent.
Anyone sitting on X Premium+ today has a decision to make, because Plus does not carry Premium+ benefits. Keeping them means Premium or higher.
When you do switch, the paid X Premium subscription is cancelled at checkout and the unused time is refunded to the original payment method, separately from what you pay that day. App Store purchases go through Apple, which decides on its own refunds.
- The switch is permanent
Three words in the documentation, repeated in five separate articles: it cannot be undone.
SpaceXAI states it plainly. Combining accounts is permanent. Support cannot reverse it. Cancelling The X Subscription later does not separate the accounts or bring back the old Cursor, SuperGrok or X Premium plans.
A few specifics worth knowing before clicking:
Switching is optional. Current plans, prices and features continue unless you change or cancel them. New customers start on The X Subscription by default.
Anyone holding more than one Cursor account picks a primary. The others collapse into it. Shared canvases move and their links keep working. Personal canvases live on your computer and are untouched.
Cursor subscriptions bought through the Apple App Store are the sharp edge. SpaceXAI cannot cancel or refund those. Cancel it in iPhone or iPad settings or Apple keeps billing you.
- Claude and GPT still run in Cursor. Teams pay a toll
The most interesting line in the whole release sits in a help article nobody will open.
Third-party models stay available in Cursor. Claude, GPT, all of it. They are not included in any tier and they bill at API list prices from the first use, drawn from prepaid credit rather than the weekly pool.
Then the part only teams pay. A Cursor Token Rate of $0.25 per million tokens applies to third-party model requests, charged on top of whatever the model's own API costs. Individual plans are exempt. First-party models are exempt.
SpaceXAI's own FAQ gives the one-line answer to avoiding it: use a first-party model, including Grok or Composer.
Three separate controls govern spending. None of them overrides another. The shared weekly pool covers first-party usage. Prepaid credit pays for everything past it. A monthly additional usage limit caps paid extra usage regardless of how much credit is sitting there. Auto Top-up is off until you turn it on.
That last combination catches people. Money in the balance and a cap already reached means usage stops anyway.
